Remanufacturing Process

We don't just recycle old gas pumps / dispensers and parts. We rebuild them. And our process is thorough. That's why you can trust PPI for remanufactured / rebuilt gas pumps / dispensers that are "island-ready" every time.

Here's how we do it:

  • Step 1: Completely disassemble the gas pump / dispenser and sandblast or bead-blast the entire frame and other major components.
  • Step 2: Paint the entire gas pump / dispenser frame and interior with rust-inhibitor paint.
  • Step 3: Bring all of the internal wiring to OEM specs.
  • Step 4: Install new reset switches and springs.
  • Step 5: Install new o-rings, gaskets, and seals, including both fluid-handling items and trim items.
  • Step 6: Rebuild the mechanical computers, regardless of their apparent condition.
  • Step 7: Rebuild meters, regardless of their apparent condition.
  • Step 8: Install new filters.
  • Step 9: Test pulsers and rebuild them as necessary.
  • Step 10: Test all electronic boards and rebuild them as necessary.
  • Step 11: Replace all plastic display windows.
  • Step 12: Replace all instructional and total-sale decals.
  • Step 13: Replace all of the exterior metal and trim with new OEM-quality material, then fit and finish it.
  • Step 14: Test the gas pump / dispenser by actually pumping product.
  • Step 15: Check meter calibration ranges to ensure that the gas pump / dispenser is ready for island setup.
  • Step 16: Conduct controlled, high-pressure fluid and air tests to ensure that there are no leaks.
  • Step 17: Securely box and palletize the gas pump / dispenser unit for safe shipment.
  • Step 18: Conduct a quality-control inspection upon completion of the remanufacturing process, and enclose the QC Checklist with the gas pump / dispenser when it's shipped.

All this-and more-is done to give your PPI-DurEquip gas pump / dispenser the appearance and performance of a new pump-for thousands of dollars less!
